    Hi All,

I was just wondering, for those that would like to share, what you regard or regarded to be the biggest obstacles you have faced or face when trying to earn a solid monthly income online with Google Adsense. What is the key thing or things stopping you from achieving your goals?

Is it niche selection? Choosing the right keywords? Writing content? Building websites? Getting targeted traffic? Promoting your site?

    All contributions welcome :)

    Dean

i dont like the word "obstacle", i would rather call it "challenge"
the word obstacle should not even exist for positive minded people

For me it would have to be time, writing unique content. I'm noticing an increase each time I add new content. If I build a page a day I KNOW I will be earning top dollar in the future ;)
Patience and unique content are my top tips !

    My biggest obstacle right now:

My web host! (estimated loss so far: $50 in Adsense alone)

It's true. They've put my websites down for the past few days due to high traffic usage. Hosted with LunarPages, they said I was using too many system resources and said I should upgrade to a VPS.

Checked my statistics, I wasn't, and they confirmed it. Sounds to me like the economic crisis is hitting everyone, judging on how quick LP recommended I upgrade to a VPS.

Although I did, because heck, a VPS is much more flexible than a shared environment :)

Getting targeted traffic. Junk traffic doesn't do any good. You need traffic that will convert to clicks.

Thanks for your comments. Quick summary:

sultanofseo - Mindset is a big one, if not the biggest in most cases. I still use the word "obstacle" and remain positive. I watched a guy on Louis Theroux once saying "It's not "no problem", it's "no challenge", but in my opinion sometimes things are problems that need to be solved. It's okay to have obstacles in your life as long as you can overcome them to achieve your goals. If doing that means you think of everything as a challenge, cool :) I'm not messing with your mindset ;)

workathomeshop says "Time to write unique content" - once you have the money coming in workathomeshop, consider outsourcing some of that burden and you'll have more time.

nduhosts says "Keeping site updated" - ndu, so "crreating content" would you say?

zac439 says "Unreliable webhost" - I find you can use a bunch of them and you'll always get the same one or two causing you the grief. I know it's a bit of a pain changing hosts but consider it for a future stress free existence.

Dexter says "Traffic" - good point Dexter. Big subject but without traffic you make no $$.

Muppethunter says "Targeted traffic" - Right on Muppethunter, targeted traffic is what it's all about.

    Keep them coming folks.

Traffic doesn't make site to earn much! for Good Income your webpages must filled with quality of content, rich keywords & well maintained site maps. Then Traffic can effect your income to reach any impressive goals you analysed about your desired keywords for site

Biggest obstacle is the roller coaster earnings from G ads. As soon as you get some decent traffic diversify. Don't put all your eggs in one basket or Google might break them.

    People who are selfish
who use the content on your site and they dont even click on one ad.
