I'm opening this post for interaction. There are lots of voices out there claiming to be the best traffic strategies (drive traffic in less than 24 hours kind of thing) but mostly are not as effective and without statistics to prove their results. So ladies and gentlemen, mind to share your best traffic strategy?
ranking in Google is obvious I personally like to use YouTube for getting traffic. It is a bit complicated getting your video ranked, but it is worth it
Depends on what kind of niche. Although it's true that most techniques are suitable for all niche like SEO, for me it's a matter of choosing the right formula for it. If you spend too much on SEO where the niche only popular amongst people at forum, the chances of you to succeed are low.
Submit article to directories is the best way, but you should do the following too. -search engine -pay per click -ezine advertising -join venture -banner ads -submit blog to directories -join social media -join social book marketing
it depends on the type of site im building. for product sites its mainly standard seo content as well as backlinks so i rank organically.
I personally suggest your social media marketing for increase your site traffic. It's become so effective and famous method, you can use famous social media sites like Facebook, Linkedin, Myspace, Twitter, etc. These site has lots of users and you can drive good traffic from there and also promote your service or product.
I try to target search engines but I notice that even if you are second you can not say that you will have a steady traffic, so I turned to link building and add spaces on popular sites.
If you're going to have a lot of content, that's original, then SEO is a well time-spent resource. If it's not so original social media and youtube is where it's at. If google knows you have duplicated or spun content, then there's no sense wasting time on SEO/Backlinks. Or Google ads at this point may not be a bad idea if you have the capital.
My favorite methods to get traffic to my websites are - Twitter, Yahoo Answer. I use these two for getting viral traffic to my websites. Although Google will always remain my major traffic source!
