My CTR was absolutely horrible today because something's wrong with the ads being displayed.

Yeah, I've seen a number of these...technically, revealing CTR is also against TOS. Probably not as big of a banning reason as some, but since it is still a possibility, I will chose not to partake in this poll.

Depends really sometimes I have anomilies, some days I get like 10,000 impression, some days not even 1,000. So my CTR varies a lot.

    Today in the fives percent

This month - in the one and a halves percent

All time - in the one and a quarters percent

I've haven't really done much site promotion until this month, so hopefully the CTR will continue to go up.

I didn't know that we couldn't discuss CTR. that's interesting.

Though this poll is pretty much useless without stipulating a timeframe, and providing an answer with one day doesn't really give much info. but that's all I can assume the O/P meant

No, it doesn't. I just means that a bunch of people who get less than 2% have voted. There are over 36,000 active members of these forums and less than 0.0005% have voted making the sample meaningless.

low ctr means generally low business for your advertisers
high ctr for good advertisers results in better business for them and hence in happy advertisers!

a CTR below 5% might generally be considered the result of failure to adsense-optimize your pages.
we had extensive threads on that topic earlier this year.

that above poll ends too soon - i am sure there are many top publishers managing a 2 digit ctr - i have 2 digits since my last adsense optimization feb 2007. why and how is pubished in my blog (sig ink ) as well as in much earlier threads in DP forum.
