I am sitting here looking at my lousy result pages at Yahoo right now wondering what it was I did. I have always been in the top ten rankings with them.

Right now it appears as though I have been BANNED from their index. They are dancing all over the place and have been referring literally 0% traffic to me over the past few days...why?

I administer to 40 different sites and they all share certain common characteristics:

    AdSense & Coop
    AdSense
    Coop
    None of the above

We are really powerless if any of my suspicions are correct, all we will have is each other. :) I have my own suspicions, but I would really like to hear from anyone in the DP nation what their experiences are?

I have never started a poll before so if it doesn't work what I'm wondering out of websites that were brutilized Yahoo which of the above characteristics we share?

I don't believe it is any of the things you mentioned. My site doesn't have any of the things you've mentioned, and it has been cast into the Y! cellar as well. I broke down this week and purchased their Directory Submission hoping they would approve me. Tought that if it was a spam filter of sort, maybe that would break it free.

I am not saying that any of the above are the cause, cuz I don't know.

What I have seen is that when I search Yahoo under my keyphrases I am finding it very difficult to find ANY sites in the top 10 bearing the AS code

I agree we need to wait...but it doesn't change what I'm seeing right now. :(

Well, as we know by mcdar's experiment, we can't really jump to many conclusions. These may even be things we haven't done. The cache issue in google isn't an issue of ours, but of Googlebot's.

Maybe if we simply re-uploaded our content, Yahoo might pick up new "cache data" and be able to re-index pages. But in all likelyhood, that's not the issue that we're currently seeing. I have a feeling yahoo is going through a big re-indexing of its entire index and things will sort themselves out overtime. I don't plan on making any changes to my sites.

What I've noticed is that when (for a brief moment of time) my keywords returned, these sites went away. So I'd guess that either yahoo's spam filter went away OR these sites are doing something funny. I think it could be the latter, these are not your normal every day spam sites.
This also kills the idea that it's because of adsense.
I've seen similar results for other sites that have been hit yet noone's talking about these. This is the worst spam I've ever seen...
Pretty disgusting is what this is :(

    Exactly the same here...

Those da**ed .aspx sites all over the place where my site used to rank good..

I've sent in several spam reports and mails now, since it seems this guy(s) are copying content from other sites, and uses some kind of cloaking..

Take a look at the cache for some of those pages, and compare them to the real pages:
    http://216.109.117.135/search/cache...ary+quotes+mottos&d=F6FF1C2423&icp=1&.intl=us

    http://www.onpal. com/quotes-are-sorted.aspx

    http://216.109.117.135/search/cache...ary+quotes+mottos&d=119AD881BD&icp=1&.intl=us

    http://www.seekmodels. com/Funny-Quotes.aspx

    and many more....

Everyone of shose .aspx pages are like that..
A lot of links and copied content (even copyright notices from pages) at the bottom of the cached pages, but they are not visible on the "real" pages..

You should change the links a bit by the way iconrate, those ba**ards don't deserve to get any free links..

Changed the links. Didn't look at the cache earlier but you are right... this is how they are ranking for select terms.
Web server hosts 440 websites (reverse ip tool requires free login)
I'm faxing over 8 C&D letters to alchemy.net see http://alchemy.net/contact.html regarding their client, maybe we can put this bastard out of business at least temporarily.

a lot of my sites that are gone from yahoo are relatively new

many of my older sites are doing ok

I have coop to and from some of the sites that are gone

I don't think its the coop specifically, but it seems to increase the possibility

    does yahoo check whois info?

one of my sites that is gone had some run of site links from another site own

right after the site disappeared, the run of site links disappeared from the yahoo backlink check

Theorectially if your have 2 sites same whois, same server both running coop

you will eventrually create a semi run of site link for your self

Two sites with Adsense and Coop are doing really good.
An Amazon affiliate site with adsense and coop has been dropped last weekend.

    I'll contact them as well..

Are we the only two who sees those crappy .aspx sites??

Try to search for your site's title, and the link title used in the Yahoo directory (if you are listed there)..
That's how I discovered those sites.

You're not alone, I found also some randomly, and a lot of other crappy sites.

The funny thing is, when I search with my title it shows all sites linking to mine. It's not listed at the directory.

for my site that was dumped from yahoo -

I have no affiliate content, no duplicated content, no affiliate links going out of the site. It is, in fact, a yahoo store (!!). I play very conservative on this site, this and my other yahoo store are my main sources of income.

The other site, in which I do the exact same stuff, is just fine in yahoo.

Only difference between the sites (externally) is that the dumped site has a few site wide text ads running and has had more press releases sent out as well (4 compared to 2 or something). I also tend to syndicate more articles for this site, than the other, too. Otherwise, no major differences.

I think Infiniterb makes a good point, wait for the dust to to settle. The rumour I hear is that alot of the long overdue index updates are actually being executed by people (humans). This will obviously take more time than any bot. In the meatime ALL 40 of my websites are on the 5th straight day of 0% referred Yahoo traffic...even with a few paid directory listings which I faithfully renew every year....
