My site (www.mcnabs.com) has been around since December 25, 2001. On February 3, 2006 We moved our business to another city and change the website accordingly. We were in Phoenix Arizona so the keywords we targeted were "Phoenix Arizona real estate", now we target "Sierra Vista Arizona real estate". When I do a google search for "allinanchor: Sierra Vista Arizona real estate" we are #17 when I do a search for "Sierra Vista Arizona real estate" we are #49. We are ranked at the very top of MSN and rank pretty well with Yahoo. I assume this means we are sandboxed. On average this site is ranked about position 50 for related keywords. Is this site sandboxed? Any suggestions on how to make it rank better?
Hey having reviewed your website I noticed you have the following meta tags: You should consider setting up your meta tag as follows: I also noticed that you have very limited key words, however your overall meta organisation is excellent. Maybe include a robot meta tag. I would just give it time and make sure that you link exchange etc.
I assume you mean I should add more keyword and keyword phrases? I just removed my link exchange because I was told that is why I have been sandboxed. I can put it back by addin a couple links and renaming a directory. Should I put it back? I have lots of backlinks. The design is basic so it is user friendly. I think that being easy to use will get people to stay longer and get more out of the site. What would you suggest changing?
You could try changing 'The McNabs' to your target key phrase in the top left corner of your page, and instead of putting it in <p> tags, use <h1> tags.
I would change your domain to sierra-vista-real-estate or something along those lines. No one's going to type the mcnabs in a search engine! If you want to keep it, try getting links with sierra vista real estaste in the anchor text. Do you have many of these?
I wish I would have known about that the domains name makes a difference back in 2001 when I named this site. Would it be better to have a brand new site with a better name or the one I have now that has a bad name but has backlinks and has been around since 2001? Yahoo tells me I have 955 backlinks and Google tells me I have 22. They all should have anchor text something like Sierra Vista real estate.
Well I made some changes and it helped some with my Yahoo rankings but tanked my Googole renkings. MSN did not change. All I really did was add keywords and ALT tags on the menu bar. Any ideas? Could my other site that has a lot of the same content be hurting this one. www.homesinsouthernaz.com? I have been wondering what to do with this other site. Should I just shut it down?
If its got identical content it wont help, if you dont need it you should can it. Make sure your active site has plenty of content, build links, then im afraid its patience...
i have a small tip about the sandbox. think this your url is sitename.com . when you search google with "sitename" word, if you find your home page on the first page, your site is not sandbox. i have made a search for you. i think your site is sandboxed
I did a search for "mcnabs" and my site (www.mcnabs.com) came up #3 so wouldn't that mean it is not sandboxed? It does have identical content. Its been 1.5 years, just how patient should I be? www.homesinsouthernaz.com has been around for just over 2 yesrs now and www.mcnabs.com has been around for 5.5 years. The homeinsouthernaz.com domain is something I do not need anymore. What would happen if I redirected that domain to www.mcnabs.com using a 301 redirect? What about the content on the site, should I remove the duplicate, leave it or remove all content?
