What is wrong with my sales page? :(

Discussion in 'ClickBank' started by awakebutnapping, Mar 30, 2009.

Last week I submitted a product to ClickBank:

    http://paid-2-take-surveys.com/

and since then I have not gotten any sales from affiliates. So I started an Adwords campaign and spent $42 on it and still did not make any sales.

I'm pretty new to products and ClickBank and to Adwords (even though I've used Adsense for years) and am just wondering if something is clearly wrong?

Another problem I ran across was that ClickBank informed me that they no longer allow you to mention specific amounts you can earn on your sales page and made me remove such references before they would approve of my sites. So I feel I'm at a real disadvantage to all of the other survey sites on there that mention amounts members can earn.

Since I haven't sold any yet, I don't have any testimonials either (and I don't want to use fake ones).

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,
    -Jennifer

Thanks - well that's good to know!

I'm not really sure what you mean by split-test.. like try out different keywords in Adwords?

Looks pretty good. However, the sales page is quite short and the copy could use some work...

Without spending forever I would say to look at the top products and their sales pages. One big key is to "storytell" in your sales page.

As far as affiliates, you need an affiliate page LOADED with ready to use materials. Again see top products... I think reverse phone has some pretty nice tools if I am remembering right.

Actually, when I started this, I did look at the top affiliates with similar products and they had fairly short pages too - I even liked those better than the usual long ones... but since mine hasn't been working so well I will add a story of some sort. So you really think those long ones work better?

I do have affiliate tools here and will be adding more soon:

    Thank you for the tips!

Your sales page looks good but as someone mentioned above i think the salescopy is a little on the short side.

What you could do with your adwords is make a presell page and collect emails as well as eliminate all doubts and answer questions BEFORE you send them through to your sales page, so like a review site or something.

Also I have seen a few of these survey sites and normally they have some interactive form showing you how much you can make etc...

Lastly, make a demo video of how much you have made using surveys and give them a sneak peek into the members area, this really boosts conversions with my products!

Good luck and let me know if you are unsure on any of the above.

your site looks pretty good actually.. well done.

I think your problem is the market / niche you choose.

totally focused on the noobs only as this whole 'survey' niche is like beating a dead horse.. lots of bad press and too much competition

Survey sites get less sales only . Bcos nowadays Most survey sites are scams in people minds...

Anyway, Your site looks nice...Dont open the order page in new window...When Click the order button it should open in same page..

Try to recruit more affiliates....Send mail to affiliates ......or use adwords to recruit affiliates..

It is a very nice looking site, however, without wanting to rain on your parade I must admit that the phrase 'get paid for taking surveys' does suggest 'scam' not saying you site is a scam.

It's unfortunate that there are so many dodgy outfits in your niche market.

The header is WAY too big, and the text on the right looks cheesy. The Home and Members under that looks even worse. Put your red Headline Text under the header and make it bigger.

When I see the site (above the fold), it looks WAY too busy. I get the whole "Get Paid to Take Surveys", but you need to put something more above the fold to distinguish your product from everyone else's.

The best things you could probably do are:

    1. Hire a copywriter to write the sales page for you.
    2. Put real testmonials from real people with site address or phone number (can be achieved by JV's with other online surveys sites).
    3. Double check your payment link and make sure to buy your own product (or pay someone else and let him buy it)
    4. Double split your Split test your salespage.
    5. Change your signature to a real signature font. It's not so nice to see double name, and especially red.
    6. Highlight the price tag and even make it look even more inviting like - "This is your first and maby your last chance to get into our members area for an exlusive price of just 200$. No I'm just kidding, 200$ is not a real bargain, so I'll let you in today for only 99$. You know what, that's insane. If you'll order NOW, and I mean NOW, I'll let you in for only 37$ (highlighted and big)!!! Well That's a huge deal! Regular members are paying 200$ in all our netword sites, so be sure to grab this offer as long as it's available (it won't be for long)."
    7. Drive more traffic to check out the conversions better. Don't pay for the conversion check at first, it's better to drive free AND paid traffic together.

    8. Grab the free ebook from my signature link, I wrote it. You can find cool ways to drive tons of free traffic to your sales page.

Have good luck with your product. If you need more help feel free to PM me and when I'll have more time I'll help you.

I think a big problem that survey products face is that of believability.

As a consumer, my first instinct is "I've never heard about this before. Who are these companies, and what sort of surveys do I have to take?"

We've all seen people standing in the street handing our cinema vouchers for filling in surveys, so the idea isn't completely new to most people. However, they're not sure what they're getting into. They don't want to part with their money until they know more about what they have to do, and people generally aren't used to refunding stuff, so the guarantee helps but often it's not enough to push them over the edge into the sale.

So.. give more of an insight into what people have to do. Give an example survey, have them fill it out and when they submit it send them to a short page that says, "You just earned $5. Click here to order and get surveys like this every day!"

Mention big companies who run surveys (or who have done at any point in the past). The biggest survey product on Clickbank does this very well, including their logos in the page. This provides credibility by association, which is very powerful.

Oh, and include more proof too. Examples of surveys you've taken and how much you've earned. Figures of how much you've made in a day, week or month. How much it's POSSIBLE to make.

All the prospect sees is what you have to say about it. Make everything more REAL and concrete by including proof and samples.

Move your trustmark to the bottom. Decrease header size (or eliminate). Pay more attention to your headline; rewrite it so that it is more provocative.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions! I've already started on some of them.

Thanks! Initially I thought that a long sales page would be sort of gimmicky and boring and non-professional... but it seems like these longer ones might sell after all? I've already added a litle story and will work on increasing it more.

I like the idea of collecting emails first, I am going to work on that - maybe even have one of those email drop-in boxes?

I wanted to put a calculator on the site because I see that a lot of survey sites do that... but I wasn't sure if that would go against the new ClickBank policy of not posting specific amounts that members can make.

I like the idea of the video, too - I'll have to get something together - thanks!!

I now have the order link open in the same page.

I hadn't thought of using Adwords to recruit affiliates but I love that idea - thank you!

Yeah... I guess I'll really have to show that members can earn money taking surveys...

    (my husband loves Danzig).

I shortened the header and changed the right text - that was bothering me anyway. I also moved the red text under the header and made it bigger.

I know it should probably be even shorter, so I may work on re-designing the header later.

Thanks for all of the suggestions and I got your book (did you really make that much in a month?)!

I changed the signature, bought my own product, and will be working on the other areas.

As for the price thing - I thought that would be too unprofessional and unbelievable to act like the price had been cut - but does that really work?

My first sales page had real dollar amounts of how much people can make taking surveys, but ClickBank made me remove all specific dollar amounts before submitting the site.

I like the idea of adding a sample survey, though, I'll have to figure out how to put one together, thanks!

I have a trustmark towards the bottom, too. I decreased the header size and may decrease it more later. I'll see if I can come up with something more provacative too... I just don't want to start with the typical "Who else wants to..." :)

Thank you very much everyone, I'm loving the suggestions and you've given me a lot of great ideas!!!
