So my biggest complaint i get on my blog from people is content. I dont have the money to pay a person to freewrite for my blog and i rather learn to do it myself. Here is a recent article i have wrote. http://officialrts.blogspot.com/2009/10/7-things-i-want-to-see-in-starcraft-2.html It is wierd in highschool i wrote fine i got B's in english and always did fine. I dont get why this is such an issue i read my articles and they seem fine but people keep telling me they are boring or somthing. Somtimes i spell things wrong and it drives me crazy after i read the article like 10 times. Any tips would help im doing research on this to make my self a better at writing.
Read again that post you just wrote, and tell me whether it looks fine. You're right in wanting to write the content yourself, and you will improve with some practice. Here are some advice I think you can benefit from: - Always use a spellchecker. - Rest a bit after you write your article, then reread it. Preferably on a differently colored background. The mistakes will just jump at you. That one always work for me. - Keep it simple. Don't go into rambling fits which produce long sentences. - Don't assume your reader knows exactly what you're talking about. I've read your article and had no idea.
Your site is disjointed. Ads need to work with your content not against it. I doubt many people will bother to read it until you fix the presentation.
Well, you say you did fine in high school English, but the writing is without care. Also, for ways to spice your work up, I'd recommend studying the writers you find entertaining, both fiction and nonfiction. Think about what they do to get you interested. Do they use clever lines? Do they try to piss you off? See how you can use that in your own work. But don't use a technique just because it seems like a good idea-write the way you want to write, above all. Strive for skill, but be authentic.
Everybody seems to attack my writing jeez. What do you think now i changed the article and fixed it can you tell me what you think of the new article.
I don't mean to discourage you. If you are not good at writing, don't do it. Otherwise, you won't enjoy it. My rule of thumb: if I can't do something well (or I am not interested), I will outsource to someone who does. Everyone has different skills and talents. Just focus on that and let others do the rest. This way you don't need to struggle unnecessarily. Of course, you can improve your own writing, but you have to remember it takes time and discipline. If money is your concern, there are many ways to get articles for free or at lower costs. Such as reprinting articles from article directories, PLR articles, interview someone, invite someone to write for you in exchange for a backlink, and so on. There is a will, there's a way. Use your imagination. Good luck.
Two simple pieces of advice to help you on the way to improving: 1) Capitalise whenever you refer to yourself in the first person - i should be I 2) Look into how commas are used to break up sentences, it makes them much easier to read. Good writing starts with good grammar, which is easy to learn with enough practice.
