    wordpress is a free bloging service and you can create any blog without any cost. You can use it in www.wordpress.com and Sign Up for a new blog.

    The other alternative is blogger.com, it's very easy to use

    When one say "WordPress", most of the time it refers to the self-hosted blogging engine which you can download at wordpress.org however, if you are looking for a free service then wordpress.com is your choice.

    As everyone else has said, it's a free blogging software.

    You can either have a free blog hosted at wordpress.com/yourblogname or you can download the software and upload to your own URL.

    And with 100s of themes and plugins to choose from you can enhance your blog and make it your own.
