What is with my minimum bid forced to be raised?

    Hey everyone;
    New to adwords, started two days ago.
    But in the last two days, my biggest keyword has gone from an allowed minimum bid of .06cents to an allowed minimum bid of .35cents, and it is not inactive and asking me to raise it to .60!

    What the crap is this? There is no competition for this keyword at all.

    It's your quality score - which has nothing to do with how much competition there is or isn't.
    You need to match the relevance of your keyword, ad text and landing page.

    Google wants you money, forget about the common myth, it has nothing to do with the quaility of score, the very basic question is - who determine the quality of score anyway..they can say you're GREAT for 20 days, and all of the sudden, all POOR! Even keywords, domain name, and landing pages are SEO optimized.

    It's because of your quality score which has to do with the relevance/quality of your landing page and your ad copy in relation to the particular keyword(s) in your ad group. Your quality score can also be effected by account history and other factors. Welcome to the AdWords game. :)

    Your quality score is what determines your minimum CPC. You can verify that in the help section of the Adwords program. It's normal for the minimum CPC to go up after 24-48 hours.

    GOOGLE is going nuts today. They raised the mini bid on all keywords of a clickbank movie download campaign from 0.20 to $10! Is Google getting so desperated to make $ like all of us? or Google just hates me after I posted some negatives about GOOG at GOOG stock board...Is Google's Toolbar a spyware?

    This is not my landing page, I know many DP guys are using the same movie dowload landing page....

    So what about the quality score from 0.20 to $10? What has changed? ROFLMAO.

    It's not allowed to advertise movie download websites on Adwords, and you are going to get banned for that. So stop advertising that as soon as possible. Same with psp and music downloads...

    Your allowed to advertise movie, music etc.. download on adwords they just cant be p2p illegal file sharing sites. Napster, and all of the official sites are allowed to be advertised. If its a clickbank product most likely its not anything illegal.

    I've also found that the what Google sees behind your landing page is also very important. Make sure the rest of the site is themed with the keywords you are biddiing on. Some links out to authority sites helps as well.

    Doing these simple steps can boost your quality score.

    It is your quality score. Have you been split testing your ads? What kind of landing page are you using or are you doing a direct linking campaign. How many hits have you received so far compared to impressions?

    I agree with this, call me a cynic but Google give you an easy ride for a short time and then bump your best performing keywords as they want to eek a bit more money out of you. Greedy asses :mad:
