If you have to ask that question on DigitalPoint, it's too far beyond your grasp to understand what it is. Someone here will come along and claim it has something to do with the look of a web site, just as they claim web2.0 has something to do with that, but that's an amateur's statement.

Lol its just a way to market the new "Web"

There is no right or wrong answer to this, if someone does claim there to be. Also, it's not regulated or anything like CSS3.

If you look up "Semantic Web" on Wikipedia.org, there is a pretty good description of the web 3.0 concept. Part of it involves making the internet easier for machines to understand, navigate, and manipulate.

Its the phase after web 2.0.

Web 3.0 will be the step before web 4.0

Web 3.0 will have concepts that will just blow web 2.0 away.

web 3.0 is the future man!

    web 3.0 rulez, Ok?

web 3.0 will have things like facebook, but on a totally new level. Like widgets.

On a serious note I think web 3.0 involves most of the following: HTML5, Semantic web searching, social sites (eg facebook, twitter etc) integration into the 'mainstream' web, more integration of ajax, more of a personalisation of the web no matter where you are on it, cloud applications integrated into websites.

There is no 'definition' of web 3.0 - its just an advancement of web 2.0. Just like web 2.0 was an advancement on the 'original' web.

One difficulty in nailing down a definition or metric for evaluating Web 3.0 is the lack of a clear, distinct definition of Web 2.0 :D :D
Predicting the Web 3.0 future is a guessing game. A fundamental change in how we use the web could be based on an evolution of how we are using the web now, a breakthrough in web technology, or just a technological breakthrough in general.
This may very well evolve into some interesting ways in which the Internet will be used in the future.

I think there is a Ted talk about this. I think it's moving the web into everyday used items. Like cell phones and stuff.

Web 3.0 doesn't even exist. Web 2.0 is the current web standard.
