I would like to know what is web 2.0 where i can get books and resources for web 2.0 pls discuss what is the main properties of web 2.0 Thanks
web 2.0 is related to design and graphics. where the designs have glossy, mirror finish - shadow etc.... Look the logo on www.bqtm.com - its a web 2.0 logo.
common misconception is that web 2.0 is all about graphics, its not, its far more. wiki has a great explanation http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2
Try running a few google queries for "web 2.0", and you will find PLENTY of information regarding the word..
Web 2.0 is about simplicity and usability. Keep in mind simplicity and plainness are two different design aspects.
should maybe expand on that, simplicity not in a graphic sense, but think more along the lines of how your user interacts with your site. look at ebay, visually very simple straight forward site, but rich with information, and very fast even with vast number of users.
I think web 2.0 is more about the function of the site rather than the design But for design trend, dont forever oversized bubble-y fonts lol
Web 2.0 is great. Design wise it is simple, sites are also very friendlu user. Also serach for web 2.0 palette in google. Some have deifined what color sjould be used in a web 2.0 design.
web 2.0 is the new trend in web and logo design, these are designs with reflection, emboss and shadows some sort of futuristic effect and light colors
web 2.0 is shiny you fools. if it aint shiny, it aint cool. im too sexy for my font.. too sexy for my font. larsson is correct. it's a lot more than just ugly shiny bubble letters with a cheesy reflection. it's about interaction, usability, and the overall aspect of creating a web application that acts and behaves as if it were a desktop application. hence using xmlhttp and javascript (ajax) to keep pages from refreshing and all of that googly moogly shiznat.
I thought web 2.0 was more about websites and users interacting like all these free blog sites for instance. Someone sets up a website and others get to add to it. But then I again, I am not really sure - was actually too embarrassed to ask and was glad someone did. I have read the "definitions" online but still wondered.
yeah, it's basically a retarded term for 'modern' though interactive websites have been around since the 90's. it's nothing new. even 'shiny' was used in the 90's as well but with the popularity of AJAX and everything they needed a new 'hype word' to make it appeal to others. it worked...
Well, today the term 'beeing web 2.0' is used in so many ways, it's doesnt mean alot anymore, but to me it's both: 1) a typical buzzword that has been shortly after the term "blogging" was created 2) an overall idiology that mirrors exactly what i (and other hard working design guys) expect from webservices and webdesign in 2007 and beyond. perfect UI & accessibility. Websites listed at *appsmania.com for example: - hosted webservices/ or software in connection to a webservice - valid xhtml, external-.css based layout - .js usability and effects (but .js not mandatory) - big text and modern typo (also SiFr) - fresh colors and stickers, badges - easy 1-2-3 signup and explanations - clean url's and search engine optimized content - usability (Full-)flash websites are definitely NOT 'web 2.0', but to me, Flash is still the leading technology for fast and smooth performing browser applications. Microsofts 'Silverlight' is about to change that soon, but they yet have to fix searchengine compatibility. But in general, -also in the most common sense i guess - just all modern websites with user driven content or other webservices can be called 'web 2.0'.

Sort of, but that is called "user generated content", which is vary powerful, IE YouTube is full of content that the founders don't need to make, but there is one thing I think they should change, and that is the URLs. They should be the same as the title of the video. That would make the video links more SEO friendly.
I believe that the phrase web 2.0 is open to interpretation. The first thing I think of when I hear web 2.0 is the graphical look of rounded, reflective and clean. When I think of web 2.0 content I think of dynamic and user driven. Just my 2 cents! -Mike
