There isn't a strict definition, many people think Web 2.0 is basically old ideas with new design. I think it's defined best as user driven sites, meaning people register to a site, create content, interact. Examples would be social bookmarking sites, communities/social networking sites like myspace, facebook and twitter, sites where people can publish their own content like youtube, squidoo, etc.
