The list even contains twitter & wordpress.com 1) Can anyone explain why these types of sites are included in what is called "Web 2.0". What does "Web 2.0" mean? 2) Should I post to these sites or get links from these sites? How is it useful in SEO? 3) Why are Web 2.0 useful and how to use them?
From the last Google update, people use different techniques for indexing their websites. The best one is Web 2.0 and do it according to the rules and regulations of Google is called web 2.0 properties.
Web 2.0 are website like mentioned above, people create articles and post them on these websites and then link them to your main website and these links are of HIGH QUALITY and HIGH VALUE. Also WEB 2.0 websites like blogger + wordpress, you can get a PR9 root domain. So if you have a blog on these both with an article and you insert a link in the article to your main website as people do in SEO, you will get this way, .example.wordpress(dot)com. Now wordpress is a PR9 so this helps you get ranking although its ROOT DOMAIN PR and not the actual PAGE PR (its not possible to get one) but Authority and link juice is still passing to your website. Before, people use such blogging web 2.0 websites for link wheel (chaining all WEB 2.0 Blogs to each other to pass link juice and authority), now it seems to not work any more if i am not wrong as SEARCH ENGINES are getting smart. Hope this helps.
Web 2.0 for me are community web and people can comment. It's hard to make people use like Digitalpoint.
Web 2.0 sites are helpful for link building purpose, you can create pages on every web 2.0 sites for the purpose of link building, but you can rank those pages too, it would really give you good benefit I would say.
