Ok for some weird reason on both of my sites, AWSTATS displays 0 hits for some days. I know of course I could not of had 0 hits, so it is messed up, any explanations?

    Talk to your host!

Some hosting companies do not run the AWStats update process when the system load is high. Good hosting companies will listen to your comments on the subject and make sure you have daily AWStats updates in the future.

Yeah it seems that your host has not updated the AWStats.

You can enable manual update of stats too. ;).

go to tmp folder in your hosting account.

    then to awstats folder.

find this file awstats.yoursite.com.conf (replace "yoursite" by your site).

    edit it.

find this line "AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=0" and replace 0 by 1.

save it. (you may have to drop permissions temporarily to save it).

you now have an "update now" button in your awstats. :).

Do not overuse this function.Use it only if stats don't update for more than 2-3 days.

I once had the same problem with hostgator. The rectified if immediately after I opened a ticket.
