Could you help me please? What does "Total Goal Starts" mean in Google Analytics Reports? I believe that "Total Goal Completions" means no. of people visited final conversion page. But what is "Total Goal Starts"? Please note that I didn't set up any funnel for my goals, so conversion path is just visit from page A to page B.

I'd highly appreciate your help! Thanks.

When you have a goal setup (transaction; filling up a form; downloading a document after providing info as examples), you can monitor and get better insights of how many people started filling up the form (total goal start) and completing it (total goal completion). If a potential client does not finish completing the transaction and/or form, then the funnel will show you how many people "exit", ie didn't finish completing the form from A-Z until the "thank you" page/confirmation page that the related info has been received.

Yes, I believe a goal start just means a visit to Page A. This number will be equal to (more often higher) than Goals Completed.

Question: What ratios are you seeing from Goals Completed/Started. To me, this is a fundamental statistic that can reveal how many potential buyers are visiting your site if they go to the checkout screen and then have second thoughts. This can be an enormously helpful benchmark for SEO.
