I have been getting a lot of hits from a strange site with different URLS. Two of them are listed below. It seems like a software or something. Could it be referrer spam? Do you actually find any reference to your site on those pages? There are programs made to spam awstats etc with fake referrers. If you have someone hitting you with referrer spam and you are running Apache, make a poison word list and block them using your .htaccess file.
That's what is happening. I don't have AWSTATS installed on my server so I wrote my own little program to track the referrers and it is getting pounded by this god damn spam. No, there is no reference to my site in those pages. It has some encrypted stuff too. .HTACCESS is a good idea. I'll do this and get back here with a report. So is it wasting your bandwith? What is refferer spam? I searched my site on g o o g l e and found a bunch of sites that there is nothing in those site with my link or anything? is this the same thing??
