jackburton2006's 10th March post about learning more programming prompted me to look into a college course for web design.

Well being based in Scotland I went to www.learndirectscotland.com

I thought that the win an ipod competition on the homepage wasn't exactly educational, I thought that the website was government backed or at least council backed with leaflets available everywhere.

Being paranoid I checked out the owner of the domain, and the admin contact is connected to www.scottishufi.co.uk

What exactly is this page filled with gibberish? Is it one of those content generator thingies I've heard about?

    I believe so. I can't imagine someone actually hand-coded that content! :p

That is plain and simple black-hat keyword stuffing, the type of thing done by people of low moral standards. ;)

I would not trust anything related to that site.

    cheers,

Learn direct are a business. They aren't anything to do with the government.
Some say they are over priced too, try a community college, or open university course.
