    Hi, i have found one site with Adsense ads that was not relevant with page content, i open source code and find this:

    google_ad_height = 90;
    google_ad_format = "728x90_as";
    google_ad_type = "text_image";
    google_ad_channel ="8485205906";
    google_page_url = "http://www.directoryofschools.com";
    google_color_border = "E0FFE3";
    google_color_bg = "E0FFE3";
    google_color_link = "0000CC";
    google_color_url = "008000";
    google_color_text = "000000";
    ==========================================

    What si this? google_page_url = "http://www.directoryofschools.com";

    I wrote Google asking about it.

    If you can display ads on one page, but have the bot crawl another, it has certain legitimate [i feel] applications for me. I want to display adsense ads on a member page with member's content, but not let the bot see personal information, so I want to redirect them to a content only page.

    I'll post what I find when I get it back.

    People, this code "google_page_url = "http://www.directoryofschools.com";" is one page www."somestupidpage".net and they don't have any connections with site from code,they site is in some language that is diferent than english ads.

    It's like this i put on my site german site www."mysite".de:
    "google_page_url = "http://www.yahoo.com";"

    google_page_url variable points to the base url of the page if the ads are to be put on a framed page. You can't just change that to something else to get "better" ads. You would be modifying the code and that's against the TOS.

    I have received a response from G about "google_page_url".

    To paraphrase, what I asked and what they answered:

    1. I asked if I can put ad in one frame, but have another frames content index, and if "google_page_url" is the way to do it.
    G responded, no. Althougth they said my question was recorded as a potential feature in the future.

    2. I asked if I could put ads on a secured members-only page, and redirect the index bot to a page that has been stripped of personal information, but retained the member's nonpersonal content. And once again asked if "google_page_url" could be used.
    G responded no. Having the "google_page_url" target/redirected to anything other than document.location (the page where the ads lie on) would be a violation of current TOS.

    So...... I guess the main answer was NO, .... currently.

    hth,

    Now I'm Jinxing myself, every time I something good about a company, I get screwed, but I have to say G has been very friendly to me. They've corrected me when I made a mistake, and responded informatively to even my dumbest questions.

    Would be nice to have the feature where the content of one frame is indexed, for ads in another.

    later,

    tom
