Hi anybody tell me what is the use of press release ? In our we should not provide any updated news or services then how can I submit press release ? Can I use the site article content for press release ?
Articles and Press Release both are different things, so you can't submit articles behalf of press release . Press Release means if you are lunching your new product or your new services and your new site then write press release on it and submit PR directories. if you are providing cheap service for your costumers then you can write one press release on it. articles are different thing. Note: If you are not have anything new then don't try to over optimization it can hurt your site
A press release shold be used to tell the business community about your products or services. I wrote a press release and submitted to all the press release sites on the net for Club Together. Before the release I searched google for the title in "" - "the launch of club together" and there were zero results, 2 weeks after the press release there were well over 2000 results, and now about 600, as the rest were probably rss feeds. If you are lucky then many of the press release sites will also allow a link, so its good for SEO purposes, but the main reason should be to get the word out.
A press release is just another way to spam your links around It's done for SEO purposes mainly although you might get some direct traffic as well.
Funny how people think it's all about SEO and spamming links. Actually a press release is to inform about something "newsworthy". Most webmaster submitted press releases fail to achieve any real press release objective because they are simply not newsworthy. If you have something decent to share then it will be picked up and published. If you are just trying to dump a link try something else and save the money!
The purpose of a press release is to con some one into working for you without paying them. It's a way to build content for the publisher. The publisher may even let you get away with a back link. Although not a syndicate Wikipedia is a great example, contributors added valuable content for the purpose of promoting their own site with a link, when Wiki grew the links were removed and referred to as spam. The funny part is some sites even charge a fee to submit a press release, (people have to pay to create your content for you). I am not saying that all press release are completely worthless or a bad idea. Just try to look at the PR for what it is, and what it's worth.
There was a time when press releases were only for the press, sent to a handful of targeted journalists in hopes of being mentioned in a story they were researching. Now, the Internet puts a company’s media communications at the fingertips of anyone looking for information. For companies like yours, this means you now have the opportunity to reach both customers and members of the media with your online press communications. Consider that:
I loved your answer. Even if spamming for backlinks, those backlinks are so temporary (through rss feeds) as to make press releases an utter waste of advertising resources. Like other posters said, the Press Release is about announcing something newsworthy. I have found online press release distribution to be nearly worthless. I had one press release picked up and kept permanently on many websites, but that was years ago. It was about the coming switch to digital tv from analog tv. The rest of my online distributed press releases got quite a few page views, but they generated few if any permanent links. However, there are the online press release distribution services and the offline press release distribution services. The offline version is a bit more expensive at around $300, but it is usually still worth the money spent on it. A friend of mine set up a scholarship fund for a Iraq War vet, as a method to advertise his website. He then scripted a press release and spent the $300 for the offline distribution of it. That press release ended up being picked up in thirteen major newspapers, described on two five o'clock new shows (including one Las Vegas local news broadcast), and posted on three dozen television websites - and those links still exist today on those TV websites, three years later. Any press release must have a "newsy" angle to it, or it is not a press release, even if it is published on a press release website. ;-)
Yes, it must be newsworthy, nobody wants to hear about the latest website full of casino affiliate links ! Although no doubt some of the lesser press release sites will publish it, as they publish anything, as its content, they can put adwords next to the side of it in the hope of clicks
