What is the use of canonical in SEO?

    I want to know about canonical in SEO. I know it will help to avoid the duplicate the content. Is there any advantage?

    search engine can't tell that www.yoursite.com and yoursite.com is the same site so they index both of them, it will lead to duplication content according to search engine view. so you have to redirect one of them using 301 or use rel=canonical

    Cannonical tags are always used to remove the duplicacy of the 2 same web pages.

    it is use to remove the duplication between same content of page. So that google should allow to crawl the pages.
