    Directories are well respected by the search engines, especially the likes of Dmoz, it means that your site has been manually reviewed and placed in the appropriate category, hence why backlinks from Dmoz are very prized

    In Google's eyes, Yahoo! directory and DMOZ are very important directories. It will take several months for these directories to index your site.
