what is the state of the .mobi market these days?

I'm just curious how .mobi is doing resale wise. I have a few I registered a while back that I may not end up using. Some LLL and LLLL, double and triple premium respectively. Just wondering if its worth putting them on the market at this point or If I should hold onto them. They are all meaningful acronyms to me that I registered years ago with a project in mind for them. Just don't have the time to pursue development of them right now. Your thoughts are welcome...

I remember when it first came out, it was crazy - I saw lll's going for high xxx and even thousands. Now, avgerage LLL.mobi only go for like 100 dollars...I think .mobi is pretty much dying IMO, as mobiles don't even need to use that extension...

At the risk of getting bashed by .mobi enthusiasts...
I've noticed a fall in pricing.

I have a couple of them that I was not able to get rid of even at throwaway pricing.
I've also been watching the listings of .mobi at places like Sedo and eBay.
    My observation:
Last few months suggest a significant slump, compared to what seems to be
    the gradual industry-wide slowdown...
(attributable in part to the overall state of the US economy).

Do you think its a temporary slump? Some of my .mobi are near expiration, think its worth even renewing them?

I've been saying this since day one - it will never take off. If anyone's phone or mobile device has good enough Internet access with which to browse the web, it's bound to be good enough to view standard websites. Has anyone actually ever seen a .mobi website?! I've never even heard of one. I simply don't see the value in the extension at all - just my opinion though

    I'd agree

With that said, if you have any decent offers, I'd take them. Maybe hang on to a couple of your middle range domains, but otherwise sell.

I'm reluctant to give advice on this issue, but I can tell you what I would do
if they were my .mobi names.

I'd sort through them and pick out the gems.
Present those for sale to the die hard .mobi loving community.
...maybe hold on to my one best name.

Place the rest up for auction here and other forums, auction sites...knowing that the likelihood is that they would not fetch much.

    Would I renew?
    No.

I'd try to dispose of them before that time comes and let that decision become one for someone else to ponder.
