    Best single way? It as straightforward as producing quality content and then the bots will come and index by itself. It takes time though...

    Good content and then get some links back to your site with the keywords in your content. O.k. that was two things, but you won't rank without keywords in your content and you won't rank if you don't have links back to your site.

    A few backlinks will be enough to get you in the Google index.
    However for some good SERP you will need a good onpage and offpage optimization.

    Great content and a lot of linkbuilding. Age of site plays a major role too so if you can buy an old domain that hasn't been blacklisted by the engines rather than starting a new one from scratch, do it... did I mention write tons of GREAT CONTENT? lol Hopefully that's where the engines are heading. CUIL is definitely heading that way, they say their searches will be quality based and not link strength based so it should be interesting to see if they can do it.
