Originally, the 'sandbox' factor was used to describe an odd phenomenon noticed by SEO professionals in conjunction with the algorithm. What is the signs of "sandboxing" before ruling out other possibilities?
I thought I'd answer the question, since no one else did - http://www.seminc.com/blog/google/ask-sem-inc-what-is-the-signs-of-sandboxing/
thanks Voasi for that brief explanation, i read it. but i have a question regarding sandboxing, how would i know if my keywords will be sandboxed? i mean is there a site or tool that can help me know what keywords are competitive enough to be sandboxed?
Kinda hard to say. Doesn't just depend on the amount of searches the keyword has, but how competitive the phrase is with the other sites that are optimizing for the phrase. Sometimes, you might not be in the sandbox, but you're going up against sites that are much more of an authority than you, so their site is just going to be at the time until you get more "TrustRank". That's completely wrong. If you had rankings and lost them, that isn't a sign of the sandbox. I'd question your linking methods or on-page optimization changes you've made if that happens. Sandbox is only for new sites, new domains.
