This thread is so sappy. I think I am going to buy myself a vallentines day card.

From the looks of your reputation bar, that's the only way you are going to get one.

I do not agree with this. At least not in Singapore or Japan. :)

It looks like you are interested in quick SEO tricks. Naturally you can get a lot of ideas in that specific area from gurus such as Brad Callen, etc. However, before SEO and many other practical details, one needs the essentials first: an useful and/or insteresting website made for users rather than for search engines.

In other case, success -if any- can be only short-term. But, with a good website, you don't need much SEO.

    Very true. :)

It's a nice country you have there. I hope to return there some day -- when I am on another client's expense account. :)

Nope, ambition alone will get you no where.
You need to back that ambition with action.
Without action you will achieve nothing.

Exactly, you need to take action. That action could be doing the work yourself, or outsourcing it.

Why do you guys update your blogs? Its not like anyone reads them or posts comments. And even though you may think your an 'expert' in your field no one cares since its not like your getting paid or anything. What is really stupid are thyousa that put signature links to stupid websites. No one visits them and Dp links don't improve your page rank or anything.

Adsense is fun.yay I made $1 this morning

Don't underestimate the long tail effect. The links don't improve your ranking, but someone searching for something in Google might easily find a DP thread about it and eventually click on a link in a posting.

And besides, you should be able to tell if someone is reading your blog, even though you may not be able to tell how many people are reading it exactly.

The success of a blog in my book is determined by the number of unique replies it has. Blogger replies are worth 2 points and annoynmous are worth 1 point. A huge blog with few replies probably gets few viewers or readers to begin with. I can't immagine having a blog with lots of readers yet no comments unless what your are discussing is really boring or something. Look at the dailykos..damn blog has a bazzilion replies for every stupid articles.

Something like 'George Bush swears by #2 pencil"
    .
    .
    .
    1000 replies
