You should consider removing image validation, at least until it becomes a problem. A lot of people like me don't take time to submit to directories that use image validation unless they are very important.
Also search for webmaster forums, register at all of them with the same username, add place your urls in you signature, and participate in as many discussions as you can. Always leave a comment
yup..participating in forums is the best way, but also list yourself in other directoryes for high pr and fast listing by the search engines
When posting a comment on a blog, post your comment on the oldest post. This way, most will already have a pagerank.
We never used image validation until two websites figured a way to mass submit to our site so now we now require image verification to keep robots from auto submitting. Why do you frown upon image verification? It really isn't too time consuming is it?
I submit a lot of listings to each site. That combined with bad vision makes for a time consuming process. I submit a lot less to directories that use it (if at all).
Aren't they harder to maintain? Where do you get enough links for them...besided submitting them yourself?
Regardless of what topic, it would be best to spend some time searching out quality sites and submitting them yourself.
