Hi friends, Google webmaster tools just showed a decrease in my site's backlinks 1000. I am bummed...I have been working really hard on getting high quality links for the last couple of months. Has anyone else noticed something similar for their sites? Anyone have any ideas what could have caused this? please help me EMERGENCY.. How to increase my backlink? Is the any new idea to increase backlink? Thanks techzarinfo
It is likley you were affected by the Panda update. It is possible many of your links belonged to popular news sites which had duplicate content etc. Also, how many links do you have left in Google?
try differnt tools and see sometimes google webmaster tool isnt the best i like backlinkwatch myself.

Obviously some of your backlinks have been de-indexed/removed for some reason, either the website owner has removed the link (For whatever reason), the website the links were on is now shut down / closed / inactive, or the page has been moved etc.
there might be certain reasons for you to get out of the ranking, due to certain fluctuation which is normal and is recovered after some specific time period. or if there is any problem in your SEO activities then it might be any of the following; 1) Duplicate Content 2)Increase bounce rate 3)low quality links 4)using automated tools for seo like for bookmarking
Removal of links may be reason due to copy of contents. Also, you should be very careful while creating backlinks for your site as Google do not like abnormal raise in them. So, go with a study pace with creation every day.
if you are doing spamming activity so your website is reduced back links and your post or links are not in relevant also you can reduced it.
Most probably some of the owner of links where you are linked delete or omit your link after they found its just a spam.
It must be due to Panda update as I am also affected by this. But not to worry you have to concentrate more on quality backlinks rather than number of backlinks.
no big deal its very normal, once they are gone you can never get back them, so forget about those links and start building new and quality backlinks.
