Other than other webmasters paying you more for text links, what is the real value of PR going to be moving forward? As Google continues to tweak how they rank sites, just how much of a role will PR play? My blog for example, ranks 1-2 on Google for the primary subject matter across the board. It was ranked as PR4 but during the last update dropped to PR3. It's predicted to move back to PR4 during the next update but to be honest, I don't care! The site produces x,xxx range revenue and has a good amount of relevant, well written original content. For me I stopped caring about PR a while ago. Your thoughts.
I don't have Google's algorithim, so I can't give you an exact answer (and I don't think anyone else can), but I assume the PR has at least some weight in ranking. A PR0 site with good content might not rank as well as a PR5 site with good content. - Edward 602
The way I see it, PR comes and goes, if you focus on traffic, quality content, and good links, PR will come.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Not sure who said that but the same would apply with Google PR. my 0.02 Thanks
I've stopped worrying about my page rank and just work on my site's content and stuff. I've wasted $35 on this meaningless stuff...
Yup I don't care about PR either. That stuff is only important for selling links or the whole site. Besides that it's pretty useless. Skinny
I'm guessing you are being sarcastic Traffic and good serps are the most important thing. Whats the point of having a PR5,6,7,8, etc... that no-one visits???? I'd rather have a PR0 with loads of traffic. As said above get traffic etc and PR will come.
You should care about PR, because if you are selling your site space to advertisers, then they will not spent enough money for their ads unless you have enough PR, but this thing works great on a directory site, otherwise me too not cares about PR for a rich content site
Agree, my professional homepage is PR7, but I've got maybe 50 visitors a day so there are no correlation between PR and visits (The page ranks well for keywords that interest nobody except a small community of at most 100 persons). The only good point (is this really a good point, not sure) is that google visit the page several times each day
PR means a lot when I buy sites to just make sure that they have been crawled by google and there are no concerns. I have a few pr6 sites that JUST sit as well..so it a twisted love-Hate relationship we have with the mighty "PR". What is really funny.... is ...we all see no use in it per-say.. but if I was giving away a PR7 domain name for free.. I WOULD have more friends than Paris Hilton..lol
"What is the REAL value of Google PR?" Google PR does does have a value. A high PR gives a site value, either when being sold or for just selling links... but thats about all. I like that quote "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." it definately fits the PR situation.
page rank is important for webmaster based link exchanges. Most webmaster's will not exchange links with you unless you have x PR. not important for natural links though notting
PR is IMPORATANT to buy-sell a new site, link exchange(as above) PR shows the value of any site. I am trying to increase the PR of my site from last yar but its still 0 . so no value of my site in market. Even my site has more than 50 articles. My friends site have PR 5 . Even we started both our site at same time.
You cant be serious? PR which you see = TOOL BAR PAGE RANK (TBPR) = useless = not updated that often PR that google uses in its algorithm = you cannot see = worthwhile TBPR is a worthless metric that too many webmasters get cought up in.
