What is the purpose of GOOGLE PR?

Can you explain me some issues regarding GOOGLE PR.

1.) What is the main purpose of PR?

2.) My PR can Affect my Adsense Earning?

3.) Google PR and SEO connection? (if any)

4.) Google PR and search Engine result?(if any)

5.) Why should I- be happy when my site is being rank by Google

1) Seeing how credible a page is on the web. Higher the PR more trusted/credible the page is.

2) No

3) Have little connection. More (quality) links you get, higher you rank .. and higher your PR will.

No one really knows for sure, but lots of people like to act like they do. It's all part of Google's cat and mouse game that likes to keep everyone guessing what's important to Google and what is not. For instance many profess that PR has virtually no meaning at all in terms of search results, Google representatives have said as much - yet they inadvertently admit that PR is important by penalizing website owners who try to increase their "unimportant" page rank by purchasing links, or selling them, from sites such as Text Link Ads.

 

A lot of people think it results in higher rank from search, a lot of people think it is useless, but it is always good for selling your site in the long run

 

So you mean guys GOOGLE PR is no USE AT ALL??

A.I think its mainly about relative links to your site more than anything!

a. No but it can increase your link sales earnings!

a. YES kinda

5.) Why should I- be happy when my site is being rank by Google

So why do poeple here in DP keep talking PR? adding a lot of threads about PR update

 

PR is general summary of backlinks structure for particular sites. More PR points you collect, more you can pass to another sites.


And it looks sexy.

 

cuz people obsess over page rank
i guess for links sales and domain sales
pr can help greatly in sales !

 

Google PR is the symbolic notation of quality of the site!!!!

YES

my site PR is 4, but its not even in top 100 in google search result.

 

Since Google doesn't come out and clearly define these things we are left to speculate, but it doesn't make for and active thread.

Now I know but Still I was wondering why people keep on talking PR

 

PR has no effect on search engine rankings and adsense earnings..
but.. so many people want higher pagerank as they'll sell links for higher rates and to get sponsors more easily.

 

Perhaps because they want to know why everyone keeps talking about it?

 

Because it is the only exciting thing in SEO field .Every 3 months ppl wait and see , like Christmas day when everybody can predict and want to Santa throw some chocolate boxes to them.

 

I think it depends on the goal of your site.

I'd like to have a higher PR (my sites range from 1-3), however if I had to choose between high traffic with a low PR or high PR and low traffic, I'd rather have a high trafficked site with low PR.

PageRank is for show, and Traffc is for dough.

And ironically, my highest SERP's are on my PR1 sites, and the lower SERP's are on the PR3 sites. So go figure.

 

hmmmmmmm,if you are planning to make some money online, the higher PR are for those who want to make money online such as engaging i paid posts. the higher the pr you are the more opps you can have.
