What is the purpose of Blogging?

I am asking a very silly question. But, I wanted to get different perspective of why you blog or have a blog or maintain a blog.

I, personally blog because I want to help increase revenue for my business. But, I also think its interesting to increase your thoughts or ideas in hopes that someone else will read it. Do you concur?

 

"in the beginning" it was about having an online diary...

...later, it was about sharing information...

...now, it's about making money (and sharing information)

 

To share thoughts yes

To meet similar people

To improve your knowledge on a particular subject

To let out some steam after a hard day ( yes, ever wonder why many people rant)

Plenty of reasons actually.

 

i like this reply, this is how definition of blogging evolve

 

Blogging is a online journal.Blog is similar like website.Blog contains updated data and time, date are displayed on it.sharing of information is possible and we can commenting on blogs too.it is being cached frequently.

 

Blogging has now become for the same reason people have (or had) websites. It's just a simple way that anyone with no knowlege of programming can now have a decent site.

blogging to some is about the money, 'How to get rich online!', to some its a simple rant on life itself, to some its about expression and getting herd over the masses of crowds, to some its about being accepted in a new world, to some its life. As for me, its basically a way of expressing myself and getting herd with some comments on my thoughts.

 

Blogging is mainly about making money.In some cases it is sharing informations too. So its up to you how u look at it.

Hmm... for me, the main reason having a blog is to make money

 

For me, i use blog(s) for

1. Sharing information
2. Announcement for my customer
3. Making money (adsense, affiliate)
4. Share my personal experience with my friends

 

There are plenty of private blogs though that are not interested in making money. Take school groups. Or groups of friends that just want to talk about things or give information about themselves. Not all blogging = $$$.

Well, money is a big part of life. But I think that as you make more you realize you are expressing your opinions...But I guess thats what the internet is about making with whatever avenue you are able to....
