I wish you to know that Pinterest provides the opportunity for businesses to demonstrate expertise and credibility in any given area. So if you start using Pinterest, it will not only provide you with more backlinks to your website, a crucial SEO ranking signals, but also it will increase its visibility.
I use Pinterest to have some traffic and ranking my website by having some backlinks and still a good way
You’ve heard of it. You’ve probably seen it once or twice. But the one time you typed in Pinterest.com, hit enter, and were immediately assaulted by cupcakes, dresses and duvets, you bugged out immediately. That’s an understandable reaction. If you fell in love with what you saw the first time you visited Pinterest, you probably don’t need this article. But with all this hype, there has to be some reason to use it, right?
If you sell products that are 'pinnable', e.g. clothes, jewellery then pinterest is great as pinners that like your product can just click on it and go to your shop. So it is just an extra marketing tool. If you have travel or fashion blog, try to pin your best photos and then people may arrive at your blog by wanting to know more about the photo. E.g. people searching for travel tips in e.g. Thailand, may click on your Thailand photo if they see that it leads to a post about travel tips for Thailand.
For business marketing Pinterest still generates great traffic - the boards & profiles are indexed by search engines, the pins themselves can send traffic directly to your website. Good if you are trying to target women.
Man, Pinterest is one of those platforms that provide you the best quality of traffic. And, if you ask me, I'll say it's my most favorite platform, as I get consistent quality traffic from them. Furthermore, monetizing that traffic is rather easy... It's like you're building your buyers' list on Pinterest.
There's one major flaw with any of those types of sites: Users can change their profiles to anything they want at any point and upload images you wouldn't consider appropriate if they were there the first time around. I follow about 50K and have 20K in following, my home page is loaded with other people's images that I'd consider inappropriate. And I have no clue how to get rid of them.
I like Pinterest a lot, its up to you what you want from the networks. For me Pinterest is the inspirational platform where I can get ideas and information regarding anything I want. Its a heaven for women who love art and crafts.
Pinterest is basically a way to explore the web with nothing but pictures. You can get a lot of traffic by pinning amazing pictures.
Pinterest is a board website in where you can also increase your community through this web board site.
So from all the responses on here, should we conclude pictures is for sharing websites to get traffic and for sharing pictures? and if it is for pinning bookmarks, why would i want to use a third party when my browser can do that also? If it is for sharing pictures then i will say Instagram does a better job of it. I am really curious too about the use of pinterest.
Pinterest’s bookmarklet is smart about finding images on Web pages and letting you grab them easily. But users can also upload images from their computers, no matter where they got them. That’s a popular choice, representing 7% of all pins, and no Web source has more than 1%. But that just means people pin from all over the place.
A bunch of communities picked up my Pinterest shares and posted them to their profile, I has been getting traffic boost to the blog with these shares on other people's profile.
