Please can someone tell me whats the point of using article submission services, so far on AMA i've written 3 quality articles and all the backlinks are on brand new sites with no pr or authority on the web whatsoever, It's just the same article on loads of sites all pointing back to mine so how is this doing me any favours? Please stop telling me YES I need to use article submission services to rank or stand any chance against competitors, it's BS!! I have a site which has been down for almost a year now but still in G's index. When I got the site online I spent some time and built 20 back links from related sites with av pr 1-3. My site has gained PR1 and still retains that even a year on when most links in G are dead, this was when i first started design before i ever heard of A/s. Article submission is complete sh*t, waste of time imo. Im not paying AMA $67 per month for BS.
Why aren't spending your time on adding content on your own site? If you do that a lot, then occasionaly droping your link/article on some sites, it's way better than trying to build backlinks just because you've read that it works, maybe it doesn't. Me for instance in my signature I mention backlinks just because I know webmasters/bloggers are looking for ways to create backlinks, but honestly I don't believe in any of that, I just repeat the same thing to my benefit.. What if everyone is simply doing the same, that is everyone who has an interest in having webmasters/bloggers submit content on their own site? And then you also have the newbies who simply repeat what they've read. So that make 2 categories of persons who say creating backlinks yourself is worth it.. but maybe it isn't, what do you think?
Yes I think adding my own content is best. No im just a little pissed that I've been drawn in to this way of thinking but Im sure time and experience will teach me, im not saying building back links isnt important, im just trying to say what i think of article syndication which is as stated above BS. It's for people who have no interest in what they're doing, like a robot, trying to make some dollar. AMA is raking it in, they charge $67 per month @ 10,000 users /month thats $670,000 EACH MONTH!
Yes, there are other methods to get backlinks and still get money from it, they're called adsense revenue sharing sites, I know I'm preaching for my own church here, but sites like squidoo, hubpages and countless others are way better than the cheap ass article directories.. And I'm not even talking about the ones who wants you to pay, madness! Google doesn't need you to create backlinks to your site to make it think that it should send you more visitors.. Now if the visitors think your site's content is worth it, THEY will create the backlinks for you on their own as they're generating content for their own blog or as they're sharing your pages with others on forums, facebook and what not. That way google will maybe think that it should send more visitors to your content.. But if it was as easy as creating backlinks yourself, everybody would be doing it.. wait, aren't they? But does it work? Not sure judging from the help calls on DP from people wasting their time building backlinks instead of adding worthwhile content to their site..
James colin is 100% correct, if you create great content, people will make backlinks for you. Now, if you do things that make that easier for them to do that, then it will increase the odds that a visitor will share a link. If you just keep "Playing" those odds everywhere you can, it will add up to a constellation of things that work together to help your site grow. Adding social bookmarking links isn't enought, you need to hit every angle, cause what wors for some, others it will not. If you cater to as many as you can, then most visitors will find some way to share your content, IF that said content is good... otherwise, they will go else where....
