What is the one thing about Affiliate Marketing you wish you could have known but didn't know before you started?

That one bit of information that could have saved you a lot of money, time and frustration?

I'd say the biggest thing I've had to learn the hardway with affiliate marketing would be focusing on a specific niche market. It's easy to sign up with a lot of broad affilate programs and try to place a bunch of ads all over your site, and have poor conversions.

That's the one thing I like about the MoreNiche network. They have plenty of quality niche-specific products and sites to promote, plus they have HUGE payouts and great conversion rates.

If you're interested visit MoreNiche.com or use my referral link in my signature and receive up to $45 in signup bonuses!

I guess it would be not knowing everything first before sinking yourself into the world of aff marketing.

I'm still new at this though, so i don't think I have experience yet.

After I open up my site, I'll come back here and post a better wish...

    • That ebooks are usually a waste of money.
    • That traffic exchanges are a waste of time.
    • That "if it sounds to good to be true...it probably is."
    • That there is such a thing as fake PR.
    • That most of what you need to learn can be found here...for FREE.

    How about article marketing?

What have you learned since you started that you wish you had known all along?

Trying to break into the 'marketing' market. Everyone and their dog sells books and systems that supposedly teach you how to make your first million. The first thing to remember is the producers of these products are marketing experts. The second thing to remember is you are their target.

Once you grasp that... when you get the urge to hit the BUY button, stop to re-read the last paragraph. What made you want to purchase in that precise moment? The answer to that question will be the best lesson you'll ever get. Start reading sales material everywhere you can find it... and the very moment you feel the urge to buy, stop. Dissect. Make a note. And begin to acquire your own repertoire of sales skills. :)

The one and most important thing is routing out the honest and reputable affiliate program companies from the fraudulent scammy ones. That would save many people money.
