What is the next step in hosting for me?

I have had a reseller account with JaguarPC (don't recommend this) for a while now. I am paying ~$20/mo. I no longer need a reseller account.

I am now down to less than 10 domains. Last month I used a little under 100G in bw. Right now I use less than 3G of disk space.

I would like to do a small VPS account bc I would like to set up a proxy just to see if I could make some money off of it. But I could not manage my own (I have to search google every time I have to tarball a directory so managing a server is out of the question).

I would like to get out of shared hosting because of the issues I have had but the price is so hard to beat!

It seems that the lowest decent VPS package is just under $50 / mo and a great shared host is under $20. And it seems that not only do you get better server performance with a good shared hosting account than a bottom shelf VPS, the only advantage to the VPS is root access (which is worthless to me).

What is the real direction I should look to? Any advise?

    Thanks

We were just on a VPS now. I won't say with who. Let's just say we're fleeing back to shared hosting. Not because of admin issues, but stability...

From what I see, shared hosting is pretty much the route for me. Now I gotta find one that gives a little more bw than normal. I don't mind paying more than the standard $10/mo for someone who is reliable.
