Social Marketing is definitely going to be the next big thing, you see so many sites popping up that all seem to do well.

That's a good SEO's job, is to predict what the new trends will be.

Social bookmarking is doing well. In time, I'm expecting a lot of niche social bookmark sites. A possible downsite is that a social bookmark(SB) site could be a cover for a series of sites that sell products and the SB site is a cover for a marketing scheme.

Infomericals are going online with video. I do see some instances where it works IF the person goes to the site and watches the video. Inline video advertising in an article annoys me.

I see niche marketing growing. Whether it's through newsletter ad's or site targeting, that's where I think most of the money will be made.

Media is sight or sound. You hear about it, you hear an ad, you hear it from a friend, or you see it (billboards, inline ads, etc.)

I think the next wave will be building expert sites that provide a wealth of free information but have a lot of backend products. People like expert sites...that builds trust so selling to those visitors is easier.

I think Video is going to grow more and more, as tools are developed to make it much easier to produce your own shows and syndicate across networks. I think there's a lot of appeal for this and it will grow tremendously in the next 10 years. The key is to find way to monetize these, which they are many, if used in an "internet marketing" atmosphere.
