    Hello,
    i am using localhost and i want to check php mail function for this i have to change in php.inc file
    i dont know what name i give server name realy i am not understanding what is meant by server name ?
    any body can do help me

    You need to check with your ISP if you don't understand your mail setup. Usually, this information is located in the control panel settings ("Mail Settings") and they will list a server name, port, and allow you to configure mail usernames/password to use with your program.

    Specifically, "server name" refers to the DNS name or IP address of a machine that is running a mail daemon to send and receive email via POP3 or IMAP protocols. You need to know where your machine is and what it is called.
