Do it look at the beginning or in the middle or in bottom of subject or in the subject as a whole?

SE first take look at Text in the entire website and then in other elements.

On page Title tag meta name, and content of course, you also need links to your website to get ranked.

Major search engines do analyze the site through overall and relevance. They will looking for homepage content and see how relevancy between homepage and inner pages, plus internal linking structure. They will also looking for your outbound links (who you are linking to) and inbound links (who are linking to you) and compare them altogether. That's why most of SEO advice you to be selective on who you are linking to. Google will pay much attention for "Bad-Neighborhood" outbound links since it is 100% under your control.

i don't think so. spiders just can't determine which is the body of your page and all. The first few lines of your html is traditionally seen as the most important. then the links.
