IM can be a great tool, but more often than not, it seems like it is very frustrating. What are the top things that frustrate about your business? Do you have anything that helps you deal with these frustrations?

IM takes so much time; and it is important to just keep marketing in order to remain competitive. This can be really frustrating - always needing more time.

Doing door to door sales there is many frustrating things that happen. My top two was getting the cops called on me to check me out because someone was too ignorant to ask themselves, and working for days with a sale. It just doesn't feel good to be looked at as a criminal and working for free.

Constant marketing. I wish clients would just come to me, but in the freelance business the #1 rule is to never stop marketing.

One thing that frustrates me is when I have the solution people need, at the price that they want, but by the time you spend alot of money in marketing, advertising costs, you no longer have the right product at the right price.

The most difficult thing (not speaking ADwords) is to drive traffic to your website, once you figured out how to do so, you will have a good business.

Looking for a client, after all the talks and discussion about possible partnership. Once they were able to receive your proposal they would just disappear and never hear from them again.

I am not sure where you are doing the d2d thing, but if it is in the U.S., most of those jobs are set up to take advantage of college students and/or newbies to the workforce. They work long miserable hours and end up with very little in their pockets. There are a small number of legitimate d2d jobs (e.g. for the phone or cable companies) but even those are very likely to grossly underpay the sales person. I suggest that if you have the fortitude/discipline/thick skin required to do d2d, you might consider a telemarketing cold calling job which can be very lucrative for a successful sales rep who can handle the rejection. If you are in the U.S., PM me and I will provide more information. BTW, I am not looking for someone right now, I will just offer advice.

Thanks for your interest in my success. I've done d2d every summer since 2008 and this last summer was the first summer I didn't go and sell d2d. I have made much more money doing that than I could have anywhere else I know about. Probably averaging about 8K a month. It is hard any maybe telemarketing is a better option but if I would cold call again I'd probably do d2d again because I know the industry. I'm wanting to learn about selling SEO, and creating mobile apps along with other internet based money makers. I'm going to school now and money is short so if this ecommerse doesn't work out I'll probably sell this summer in Canada for about a month to help with finance. If you have advice about how to sell SEO online, any companies you know of, that would be helpful. Thanks again for your interest.

Promoting for me is the most frustrating thing, and getting TARGETED traffic for a niche website is not piece of cake.

If you can make $8K per month in a summer job, you should stick with that.
