I was searching in the net for most cheap yet consistent domains. I got confused by the so many options available. Can anybody tell the factors I should consider before buying new domain other than price??

there are many other things you should consider other then the domain price..!
The domain registrar shld be given more importance . you shld select a good registrar such as godaddy or name.com .As they can only provide you good support and their servers will be very robust..

Coming to the price..you can get .info's from godaddy at just 1.2$ for the first year..!

If u are looking for the quality . i prefer going for a better TLD such as .com .net or .org ...!

I would recommend GoDaddy.com. Excellent customer support and a pretty nice set-up for most of your domain needs. :D ...yes, they're the best! 0_o

But I have heard some customers are not satisfied with godaddy service. Some say namecheap is better than godaddy. What kind of service is usually required for domains (like reporting server down or something?)??

well, I currently have 30+ domain names registered in NAME.com and I am very happy with their service so I'm suggesting to try to check them out.

    good luck :D

GD is good but their interface is bad.
It take lot of time to load the page.
While i prefer name.com coz they give private whois free.

I like 1and1 for their price but absolutely HATE their interface.. its ok to use that if you have 10 urls but anything more than that becomes a hassle. but then again price is king :)

godaddy is definitely the way to go. .com for 6.99 but the interface is rather messy.

I would not recommend GoDaddy. The interface is terrible and the website overloaded. Name.com, Enom.com or Moniker.com are a decent registrars with a long time experience and standing in the industry.

If you want free privacy then I'd suggest that you go with Name.com. Keep in mind that you wouldn't want to use them for tasting, however.
