Hi, 1. can anyone list the most frequest problems that DBA would attend? 2. which task requires more time consuming?
The most difficult time comes when the shit hits the fan aka servers crash (for example). And of course - in the very beginning when you need to design the database architecture, define policies for user access, backups,..
Most frequent - resetting passwords for users. Most time-consuming - restoring from back-up. You can't afford to make any mistakes....
hi everyone, thanks a lot for vasago and cemage...for your valuable reply for my thread....can anyone tell the herirachy of task level, from very tough task to easy task. which backup takes more time, say hot or cold or handy.....dont mind i am novice..i just started learning to become a dba?
1) recovering from database corruptions 2) performance tuning / scalability 3) troubleshooting bugs 4) dealing with difficult/incompetent developers/architects
