    Hi Guys,

Wanted to get some opinion about VPS management system and most compatible with WHMCS.
I have in mind onApp that actually seems to me the most advanced (paid solution), HyperVM (that I do not knwo very well) and Citrix (that is not compatible with WHMCS in regards to module).
Any other systems maybe should be considered? Thank you.

SolusVM is good. As far as I know OnApp is an app for a cloud computing VPS infrastructure... unless their ads are a little bit misleading.

we are using SolusVM for a month now and for normal vps deployment they are good.

Onapp is excellent. We are official partners of onapp and we have been using onapp for both our cloud and hybrid servers. If your initial budget is good, then go for onapp. you won't be disappointed with the enterprise features.

    @anands

We have deployed our own cloud infrastructure in our DC and I am about to sign the contract with onApp, but you know after some detailed research I found that onApp is one of those aoftwares that are really worth to use. I am not sure about other ones, what about SolusVM is that designed for cloud and stuff like that? I mean will we be able to use most of the features as onApp too? Another thing is any software that allows you to burst RAM in cloud? Thanks.

    Pardon for the late reply.

I guess you might have found the answers, but still let me give my point.

SolusVM isn't designed for cloud, its only for vps hosting. Its stable and is backed up by prompt and professional support.

OnAPP is for you if you are running a cloud hosting business with a industry leading support. They reply to less than 5-10mins after i report and issue and fix it. Thats not something that all cloud providers can assist you with. They also give the integration code for WHMCS or Hostbill. Its something thats designed for webhosting companies than a large corporate private cloud.

They are using Xen virtualization and in-future they are going to introduce VMWARE + ONAPP too. You can't burst RAM in these models.

Hi Guys, we are just in the process of starting out with a cloud hosting service and we got an online demo from the Onapp team in the UK. Their demo was clear and precise and easy to understand. I think what interests us here is the 1 year free with no frills. As a start-up this is very appealing. We are still trying to choose between onapp or a vmware cloud solution. Unfortunately one of the drawbacks with OnApp is that they require quite high spec'ed machines for their windows solution.

Hi anands, at the moment our budget is really up in the air as we are dealing with possible investors etc at the moment. To our benefit - we already have the hardware infrastructure in place and so we are just looking around to see whats available. If you visit webcore.ie you will see we have a Linux cloud hosting service in place but not Windows. Do you have any advice?

If you have a very good SAN, i would highly recommend OnApp. We have cloud both vmware and onapp. Vmware is definitely the more enterprise solution but OnApp is more friendly for web developers. I have never waited more than 10 mins for a ticket reply.

Many partners offer cloud setup less tailor made for Onapp less than $1500/mo... If you already have an infrastructure, then i don't see any problem.

How good is your SAN setup? does it have SSD cache for read and write?

Thanks for this info. Our primary SAN uses 4 MultiPath iScsi gigabit connections to multiple shelves of 14 x 15K Scsi disks. The SAN controller uses 32GB Ram as its read/write cache.
Currently vmware vms see about 400MB/s transfer rates from the SAN which is comparable to any FC set up i have ever used with vmware.

We have a secondary SAN with 7.2k Sata drives and 16GB read/write cache for archives and templates.
In your opinion is this sufficient for OnApp or should we really be running 10Gb iScsi?

that should be really sufficient for you to go ahead.

We use a SATA based SAN we achieve around 320-330mb/s on read and 120-140mb/s for write.
