Why are you worried about Page rank? It can take 3 to 6 months or longer.
Why not focus on bringing content to your site, and building quality links? High PR doesn't matter these days unless you're selling links.

We don’t know how PageRank is really calculated and that’s why Toolbar PR is often called Foolbar PR ..so why worry about this elusive metric.Worry about conversion rates, ROI (return on investment), relevancy, or other metrics that actually correlate to meaningful gains for your website or business

Depends on when Google updates the Page Rank. This can happen in days, months or even a year for your website. Keep on building good quality backlinks and you will see a nice PR soon :)

Do not worry about the page rank, as it is issued to your blog on the number of quality backlinks you have, the content on your pages, design, presentation, many such factors.

I don't really think there is a minimum time. It really depends on how much competition there is and how much work you are willing to put into it. I have ranked successfully in a month or two and sometimes it has taken me a year of consistent work.

    Hi grunt,
I think if your site is new(page Rank 0) and if you do proper SEO and choose good keywords.your site can get ranks in couple of months.May be within 2-3.But for increasing page rank needs lot of SEO works and patience. It needs more time to get higher rank.
There is one article regarding page rank in this forum you can refer to that also.http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1827360
