What is the meaning of the word Opt-IN emails

    What is the meaning of this word "Opt-IN emails"?

    It's a polite way to ask for your email address and receive newsletter, promotion, just anything from the site that asked. It make the spam not a spam.

    Err...do you get what I meant?

    It's more than polite, it's law in the US. The best route is double opt-in. You submit your email address, they send you an email, you send them a reply to confirm. This way they have proof that it was you wanted to be on the list and you told them twice.

    ok. I got the idea. thanks.. But some people here at DP sell lists of millions of opt-in emails for just $5 or $6.. wow.. i just can't believe...

    I wonder if they opted in to be distributed on a list of millions for $5 or $6. It sounds like spam, it smells like spam, it tastes like spam, it feels like spam, but if he says these people signed up to be on any ones email list then you can take the risk of using the list and having yourself banned as a spammer.

    double opt-in is the way to go i always feel like my privacy has been stolen when i receive spam mail. Opt-in is considered the only legitimate way to market via email =)
