Hi All I dont exactly what is the meaning of "do follow sites" in my opinion search engine spider which follows all links from root directory(robot, index=follow) is it correct or worng. i am waiting for u reply about it. Thanks chakri
there is code you can put in each link rel="nofollow" this will stop search engines following a link any link that doesnt have this, is considered a follow link.
A do follow link simply means that the link will be counted towards your backlinks and your PageRank. This counts for all links unless they have code making it a nofollow link. Nofollow links, btw, are now frowned upon in almost all situations.
@skylops: that semi dofollow thing is fictitious, it doesn't exist and if someone is using it they are making a mistake. Valid value for rel attribute is nofollow. Any links that doesn't use 'nofollow' value is a dofollow link. Dofollow forum will typically signify that signature or post links are dofollow (or nofollow free), dofollow social bookmarking site also means links on the site are nofollow free.
DO Follow link means search engines spider will follow and index it.Though do follow and no follow link will be counted as backlink to your site.
You miss something important: DO Follow link means search engines spider will follow and index it + you 'll get/pass page rank from/to website. example: lets say you get a dofollow link from a *site A* that has a page rank *PRA*. the *site A* link also to *N* site, so the page rank you'll get is equal to = PRA/N.
These links look the same to a human. They can click and be forwarded to the website. The dofollow or nofollow are read in the html code by the search engine spider robots and it determines how they treat the link. Dofollow is considered a regular link. So the spider will record it for further indexing and include it for any PageRank style calculations. When a link is html tagged as nofollow, the website is telling the search engine spiders they should ignore that link for PageRank style calculations. Websites will use nofollow on user generated links such as forum posts, signatures, blog comments and profiles to discourage spammers from using the site to create PageRank valued links to their own websites. When coding your own sites and creating your robots.txt you probably don't need to use the nofollow tag unless you have problems with spammers as noted above.
Agree, with what has been said previously. I do not focus exclusively on do follow links. In our experience, we can still get good search engine ranking from no-follow links as well.
"Do follow" means search engine spiders will crawl but "no follow" will stop them from crawling and will nor be indexed.
Do follow links are links that are counted as backlinks by Google. These are the links you should build for your site to improve its ranking.
Do follow and No follow can give you backlinks i guess. Do Follow links will be a priority for the Google spiders and No-follow links are not considered by Google. Do- Follow will help your site improve its ranking, yeah that's true
