After someone sells a product, up until how many days can a chargeback be made?

Exactly 180 days but in some cases also some month longer!

 

Charge back can be initiated up to 45 days from the date of transaction for payments from cash balance and 180 days for payments done using CC funds.

Paypal itself facilitates charge backs only up to 45 days but several credit card companies allow the period of 180 days and hence customer can initiate the same even directly from credit card company till that time period if the payment is done using CC funds.

I think Paypal holds up account limitation money for 180 days, for this very reason.

I believe buyers can file chargebacks 120 days or more after an order's been placed.
