    If you pick the wrong KW and have great on and off page SEO you are still going to be limited...
    If you have a great KW and your on and off page SEO suck, you're limited
    Great KW, Great on and off page SEO, and spam ass cheap ass backlinks well you no..

    You have to have it all
    side note: unless the competing sites suck worse :)

    I have some method of SEO.

    1: submit articles on different high pr article sites
    2: Bookmark on high PR sites.
    3: Directory Submission on high PR sites.
    4: Blog commenting on high PR sites.
    5: Link Wheel with different content.

    they all back link method are best for SEO.

    I guess if you would have to consider "One" main part it would be On-site SEO. With out having the correct content and structure search engines would not be able to find you site in the first place. Example; if you had a home page that had 200 words of content talking about everything from dogs to how to golf. Then consider your site a billboard in the desert (no one will see it, and it will have trouble getting indexed).

    If you've already completed the submission of your website to the search engines like google, bing, yahoo. then all you have to do is create quality, catching and understandable content. content means not just the text i am telling about but also images. Insert the light weight related images (name images with topic related also use alt attribute to describe the image which you have inserted, so that your site also perform better in google image search)..

    I receive 30-40% of web traffic from image search. (this is one of the powerful seo method which i have implemented in my website).

    And building the backlinks from the good PR sites is also good for the website and it's seo performance.

    You don't necessarily need it. Here is two domains i have ranked on the first page of google in the second and third place out of over 2 million competing pages...AND NO CONTENT, NO ON PAGE SEO!
