What is the lowest amount I can charge someone with Paypal ?

    I only need to charge for verification purposes , what is the lowest amount possible ?

    You can always charge 1cent but all of which would be taken by Paypal. However, if after you are satisfied with the status of the paypal account holder, you can issue a refund and the buyer would get everything back.

    If you just want to see if the person is verified or not, just click on 'Send Money', key in the person's email address and then fill in the rest of the details and click 'Continue', on the next page, it would state if the party is verified or not. Just do not proceed with the transaction from that point.

    Thanks, but I don't need to find out if the person has a verified paypal account but I need to know what his paypal ID is , so that people cannot sign up with different aliases on my forum..

    i thought the lowest is $1... but now i know it can be 1cent also :D but wonder who will be the paypal fees for 1 cent..... :D

    Basically if what you receive is 1 cent then Paypal keeps everything since the fees is higher than the dollar amount received.

    It is a basic formula, if amount received > fees then you get the balance but if amount received < fees then paypal keeps all.
