Can anyone tell me what elements in the site to determine the SEO in a web page? One of them, I knew was Keyword tag. Not sure what about the rest? Any comments?
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking based on the wording of the question however.. A few very important on-page SEO factors are -Proper Title tags, meta description, keywords etc -Keyword-rich sales text, natural reading flow, low density -Proper header tags <h1>-<h6> -anchor text -limiting outbound links -alt text for images -valid html markup, css I'm sure the good people here at DP can elaborate or add to my list
What openmindz said. Keywords are ok to put in with the keyword meta tag but Google and many search engines don't even look at it.
Honestly, just use wordpress. It takes care of all of the onsite SEO for you (with All-in-one SEO to help out). If you decide not to go with the easiest solution (WP), then openmindz covered the basics. You also want to make sure that all of your pages/urls are canonicalized, that your sites taxonomy makes sense, that your URLs are search engine friendly, and that would cover most of the onsite stuff. Also, make sure you have a good 404 page just in case it comes up, it doesn't do much for SEO, but from a user standpoint, it is gold.
I think keywords, proper post title, keyword density, and back linking are important parts of seo that makes a web page stand out against others.

Your web page should have proper On Page Optimization which includes titles, keywords, descriptions and meta-data. Your home page should have enough content with right keyword ratio. H1 and H2 tags are also important. Before attempting linkbuilding for your site, make proper onpage which will help you market your website!
