What is the impact of SAME class C IP server on a blog network?

Would SEs consider your material "duplicate content" if your server ranges in the same CLASS D IP?

    Example: 111.222.333.444

    Class C = 333
    Class D = 444

Duplicate content means publishing the same content twice. What does the IP have to do with that?

Ive been told a few times that SE's factor in Class C IP to determine people who create fake "networks" that just link to each other. On it's face, it looks like differing websites but they are actually owned by just one guy.

That issue has nothing to do with duplicate content. And I think the case for that as a problem is vastly overstated in the first place. After all, I could do the same thing by setting up a little network of sites on different servers in different parts of the world, couldn't I?

Beware of any article that starts out claiming "everyone knows bla-bla-bla is a fact".
