Making myself work is the hardest part. All the distractions - tv, hulu, other time wasters get in the way. Then I think that I am loosing money while I waste time, and back to work it is!

The ability and fortitude to move forward and actually start doing instead of just learning will determine if you have a chance at being successful online. No action equals 100 percent guaranteed no success. As simple as this sounds, this is the number one reason that most aspiring internet marketers don't succeed. They just never take that first step. It's like learning to swim. You can read all the books on how to swim that you can find. You can listen to all the swim instructors in the world, but if you don't eventually jump into the water and try to swim you will never really know how.

    Hi Roger

very true. Even experienced online marketers get distracted far to often by social media, reading blogs or in my case: virtual worlds. It requires a lot of discipline not to fall in that trap.

I personally find it difficult to come with new articles every day. Knowing that adding fresh content is the most essential part of a every blog and comunity, I have to do that every day. Just sometimes I lack an idea...

I find building backlinks and adding new content a drain.

I agree with all of the above, but I also think that staying motivated until you find a formula that works can be a real challenge for people.

Can only agree on the above problems. But I also feel that in the beginning you´re putting a lot of work into it and don´t see much results. It takes a long time and a lot of hours before the results come...

I think the most difficult part in internet market is to satisfy your customers all the time.Because their needs may change frequently and they ask for various service
in different periods. Therefore, how can we always please our customers and know their needs may be the most challenging work.Anythime we'll try our best to serve
them and assist them.Customer first, and all for customer.

It is hard to add new content every day, I'm totaly disable to write so many articles and that's why I buy them.

Another hard thing is to build high quality links which helps you with SERP.

The biggest hinder is sometime you got loose focus and on a wrong track. For instance you start a social networking profile to boost your traffic but in that entire new thing you just forget about it and get into it useless chats etc. So hardest thing is to be focused.

I think the psychological aspect is where many newbies trip over. As humans, we all want instant results - so a lot of people try a marketing tactic out for a few days - or maybe a week or two...don't see immediate results and promptly move on to the next big thing.

I think being presistant is key to success with IM. I've been at it for ten years now, so I'm expecting to hit the big time any day now...

Coming up with a budget to pay for PPC....since you can't survive on long tail keywords alone.

Hardest part , it is creating something unique for yourself , differentiate from other people. It will be challenging but may be not the hardest one.

The hard part for me is getting motivated everyday. Sometimes I get lazy and start to slack off. I've been doing online marketing for just a few months but I think it'll get harder to still motivated the longer you work.

The hardest part (lately) is finding the right product to promote! Especially products that will have a long life cycle!

Personally I like to approach a lot of my work in a habitual format. I just do it every day and it gets done. By placing no emotional investment in it, it allows me to do it far more easily.

Of course, results and knowledge are good. Spend your time looking for the right tactics and get happy about your little successes, but above all, treat it as a normal, everyday thing to keep it ongoing.

Well, there are many different types of mistakes you can make. I would say the top two would be:

#1: Not doing proper research on your market

It is simply a fact that there are markets out there that are over-saturated. My first internet business was gaming servers, which that's not really an overcrowded market but it is fairly saturated. The second was web hosting, which was definitely over-saturated. I still own the small business, but it will never be profitable unless I have a lot of money to invest. I doubt I ever will. There are less competitive markets which you can better compete in.

    #2: Driving Traffic

I don't care how pretty your website is, how awesome of an idea you have, if you can't market your website properly, you'll never make a sale. It's just the life of having an internet businesses. Every person I develop I website for I really try to drive the point home that they need to market their website to be successful. I can put all the little nifty things into it, maybe even help them be unique and set themselves apart from the competition, but if they can't do that verbally with potential customers... they'll never make a dime. Traffic = Money - It doesn't matter what field its in. :)

    the hardest thing,

1.of course make unique content everday, for first week it's easy but for longer time it's become very hard
    2. link building & driving traffic, part that will make me very tired...
